GrandCon Gaming Convention
In 2012 GrandCon was established, and its inaugural regional show took place in 2013. GrandCon was the first event of its kind in the Greater Grand Rapids area, and held on the Calvin College campus at the Prince Conference Center. The show proved to more than a successful gathering of gamers and comic book enthusiasts. Although, as GrandCon continued to grow it became apparent that its attendees were favoring the gaming experience more-so than comics. Brian Lenz, founder of GrandCon, began a new adventure and focused solely on the hobby gaming industry.
